Inniskillin, Niagara On The Lake

According to yelp, Inniskillin is the best winery in the Niagara-On-The-Lake region. It’s one of the bigger and more popular. However, being the best is relative. My take, it’s known for the syrupy concentrated type of ice wine and service is impeccable.

Inniskillin made sure that they had display frozen grapes still on the vine for guests to enjoy an end to end ice wine experience. And, nearby are andriondack chairs in case you want to take a few minutes to just breathe the air.

The winery also sells food. There is a small raw bar, soup and sandwiches are available. Smore packages are also sold so you can enjoy toasting them on a nearby fire pit.

I spotted a group enthused to start toasting their marshmallows.

Their tasting room and store is huge. It’s in another separate building called the wine boutique. There are different stations based on the type of wine you want to sample. I searched for the ice wine station.

I used the tasting card my B&B hostess gave me. The card allowed me to choose two ice wine to sample. I was afraid it was going to be too sweet. To my surprise, the riesling ice wine and the vidal ice wine had just the right balance.

Tip: Free tasting cards are available at your B&B or hotel, just ask. If you are going to 5 wineries in a day, you are already saving $50 per person.
