Le Grande Epicerie, Paris 2015

I went to Le Grande Epicerie in search of a chocolate croissant which in Paris is called pain au chocolat. What I saw was a multi-level store of everything wonderful.

To start, the pain au chocolat was a balance of buttery and not too sweet. It’s good for my first bite after 10 years. Next time I’m in Paris, I will try to live around Montemartre and look for the uber buttery kind of croissants.

I like their brown bag, effortlessly chic, very naturally sophisticated.

This is so cool, their SKU’s are programmed to print the ingredients as well.

As I normally do, I’ll make it the top floor and checkout each floor as I work my way down. I spied the restaurant area. I’ll try to dine there next time. There is no time for that today.

I spied another floor of pantry goods.

I want to make my last rounds before leaving. I came upon this wall of water bottles. It’s amazing how the light illuminates them.

There is a butcher section. And, there are sides of a cow chilling in a vertical cooler.

There is a dining area next to the seafood section. I wonder how expensive is it to have some seafood grilled or just sauteed in butter. To be explored on my next visit.
