Laurel, Philadelphia


My dear friend was relocating back to London and I wanted our last shared meal together to be special. I had chosen to go to Laurel owned by Top Chef winner Nick Elmi. The restaurant is charming with bistro style decor of warm wood colors and white walls on East Passyunk Avenue. It’s BYOB. I called the restaurant to check which wine would pair best. It was suggested to bring one light red and one light white wine. The menu is prix fixe but there were seasonal dishes on offer. We chose the risotto dish with truffles shaved table side.

Seasonal Menu:


I brought a bottle of Malbec and a bottle of Champagne. The service was impeccable. The servers immediately put the bottle of Champagne on ice. There are no written menus. The prix fixe is $85 pp for 7 dishes and is seasonal.
