The Kimmel Center played host to the Garces Foundation Gala. While the VIPs dined upstairs with Iron Chef Jose Garces, a tasting event composed of the city’s best restaurants was simultaneously going on. The foundation had it’s beginnings with Dr. Beatriz Mirabal-Garces, wife of the iron chef. It’s goal is to help the community through health days and various collaborations.
 

My Favorite Bites:

 

1. Chestnut Veloute by Chef Chip Roman of Blackfish

I must have had at least five servings of this creamy soup. I can’t believe it’s made of chestnuts !! I thought it was foie gras. It was so buttery delicious !!

2. Wagyu Beef Tiradito by Chef Dave Conn of Tinto and Village Whiskey

The wagyu beef was melt in your mouth. The richness was so well balanced with the acidity of the garnishes which CheF Dave chose to compliment the dish.
