What’s the fuss about these doughnuts?
They are expensive. The lines are long. You have to purposely go to the Lower East Side to get your fix.
As a frequent donut eater, I can tell you why:
(1) The melt in your mouth factor. Krispy Kreme comes close but flavors are limited.
(2) Variety of flavors. My favorites are creme brulee and cashew.
(3) Freshness – soft and a bit chewy.
Warning: If you buy some to take home, eat them as soon as possible. Left overnight, the doughnuts become cakey.
