Burger Bash 2012CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: (1) Festival founder, Ian Schrager with Rachel Ray. (2) Judges’ Winner, Michael White from Ai Fiori with Ian Schrager, Rachel Ray and the boys from Pat La Frieda. (3) People’s Choice Winner, Josh Capon clowning around with Rachael Ray.

Rachel Ray was back hosting this year’s bash after a hiatus due to scheduling conflicts. The bash was at a new place, Basketball City on the Lower East Side. Despite the huge venue, we felt Rachel’s energy permeate the crowd. That’s why we love her.

I always look forward to what Spike will do at the Burger Bash. Good Stuff Eatery Chef/Owner and former Top Chef contestant, Spike Mendelsohn didn’t win but outdid himself from last year. He always comes up with not just yummy burgers but show stopping antics. This year’s theme was Great Britain complete with models in crossing guard uniforms handing out treats. And, internalizing the theme, Spike had wrapped himself in a British flag while greeting fans.

The Judges:
