Quick Bite @ DiNic’s, Philadelphia

CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: (1) Lunch counter at DiNic’s. (2) Store signage. (3) The sandwich production line. (4) My order – beef brisket.
DiNic’s, Philadelphia
I got to Reading Terminal Market at the tail end of lunch last Saturday but the line at DiNic’s was still long. Instead of waiting, I went around the market to peruse the special produce of the week. After an hour, I went back to DiNic’s and the lunch crowd had thinned out. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich because it came highly recommended. While waiting in line, I overhead so many people ordering root beer. I guess that’s the beverage best paired with these large sandwiches to enhance the smokey flavor. I decided against the soda since I’ve been trying to cut down on sugar.
Verdict:
Flavor-wise, the beef brisket was well seasoned. The brisket was not as moist as I wanted. The cut I got was lean. I prefer more fat on mine. I would most probably request a fatty cut next time.
