Chocolate Show 2012, NYC

The Chocolate Show is the yearly cornucopia of culinary demos, book signing and pastry art. Vendors from all over get booths to showcase their new concoctions and award winning recipes. Since Christmas is two weeks away, I’ve decided to do a quick gift guide for the foodie in you.

My Picks:

Oliver Kita Chocolates – the flavors are as intense as the bejeweled colors of each edible gem. And, these are Vegan !!

CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: (1) John and Kira’s – these lady bug chocolate pieces are so cute. (2) MarieBelle and (3) Boissier – makes a statement that says you’re a sophisticated gifter. Boissier chocolates are steeped in flower and fruit essence. (4) Prestat – award winning chocolate bar as a stocking stuffer. The citrus in the raspberry just makes this bar fabulous !!

CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: (1) Salt of the Earth Bakery – the flavors of their baked goods are enhanced by sea salt bringing out the homey goodness. (2) Tache – the metallic chocolate owls caught my eye as good office holiday gifts. It’s classy and not too expensive. (3) Chocolate Shop – chocolate and wine, how can you do wrong. (4) Wines from Quady – the dessert wines are fantastic !! My personal favorite is the Electra Muscat.

This is my non-gift recommendation. The Fig & Tequila ice cream was the BOMB !! You have to indulge and get this treat for yourself. Available at Screme Gelato Bar, various locations in Manhattan.
